For ABIMOTA - National Association of Two-Wheel Industries, Hardware, Furniture and the like, “This award reflects the recognition of the work developed in favor of the national two-wheel sector and smooth mobility”.
Portugal Bike Value, a program that promotes the Portuguese sector across borders and Portugal as a destination of excellence for investors who want to invest in the production of bicycles, is a fundamental “tool” for the promotion of the sector, by asserting itself as an “umbrella brand” Portuguese companies.
Two thousand and nineteen was a milestone for the “two Portuguese wheels”. With more than 2,7 million bicycles produced, Portugal took the lead among European bicycle producers.
“It is with great pride that we received this award at ABIMOTA, but we cannot fail to share it with all those who bet and who are daily in the first line of production. Two thousand and nineteen was a good year and I believe that despite all the difficulties that 2020 presents, we still have room to grow. ” Refers Gil Nadais, Secretary General of ABIMOTA.
“Smooth mobility is the order of the day, the bicycle is one of the engines of mobility in post-confinement, the European Commission has recently reinforced its support for the bicycle and in this second half there are companies in the sector whose production is growing at double digits, fruit of the huge demand, but also of the great capacity that the national and installed companies in Portugal have. ” The director of ABIMOTA concluded.
